Places you can visit

Elevators

Get closer to the characteristic elevators of the city, where more than thirty are since the end of the 19th century. Some of them are still well preserved, and 16 are National Historic Monuments. We recommend to take the Elevator Concepción, opened in 1883, as well as the Elevator Reina Victoria and Elevator El Peral, both opened in 1902.

Gastronomy

Discover the wide gastronomic offer, that Valparaíso presents with various options of restaurants, cafes, and bars near the hotel. Taste the traditional cuisine of the region, with a large variety of restaurants in the surroundings of the hotel, with amazing options for all budgets. Some of the typical dishes we recommend are Chorrillana, Seafood soup, and a delicious dessert Lecha Asada.

El Internado Valparaíso

Walks and viewpoints

Get lost in the streets and passages around our hotel and be dazzled by the beautiful postcards offered at Paseo Mirador Atkinson, which since the 19th century has one of the most beautiful illustrations of the city, with its characteristic houses of different brilliant colors. From the viewpoint, you can see a long coastline, up to Viña del Mar, as well as the hills of El Almendral. You can also enjoy the Paseo Yugoslavo, perhaps the most representative viewpoint of Cerro Alegre, which houses one of the most important tourist destinations in the city, such as the Astoreca Palace, the Valparaíso Museum of Fine Arts or the Baburizza Palace.

Street art

Rejoice with the impressive street art. Each area of the city will allow you to enjoy the characteristic murals that have flooded Valparaíso since the sixties, especially in the socalled Open Sky Museum and Paseo Dimalow. This last one creates a symbiosis between art, nature and the city that is very attractive for all residents and tourists.

Concón

Visit the wide range of museums, among which you can find the Naval and Maritime Museum, the Lord Cochrane Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Puppet and Clown Museum or the Municipal Art Gallery, as well as the renowned La Sebastiana Museum, home of Pablo Neruda, a well renowned poet of Latin American literature of the 20th century.

Viña del Mar

Visit the nearby city of Viña del Mar, where the well-known International Song Festival is celebrated. The city has an intense cultural life, and you can also enjoy beautiful beaches, its iconic flower clock, and some museums, such as: the Fine Arts Museum, the Palacio Rioja Decorative Arts Museum, the Fonck Archeology Museum, or the Artequin Educational Art Museum.
